Ordered my Brodit clip and holder following recommendations on here. Still have a 4s snap in adapter £50. Any tips for the fitting? It's a dash mount.
 
Yep, I put a thread up when I did mine. Bing also fitted one.

If you have a leather dash, or are worried at all about damaging it, remove the vents and head unit and loosen the screws that hold the dash trim.

Otherwise the dash mount comes with a couple of tools to create a little space so that the clip goes in easily.

It should come with instructions and is pretty easy to fit as it is tailored to the shape of the dash. Just make sure it is enough to the right to clip the bottom into the gap at the edge of the panel above the roof / heater controls - you'll know what I mean when you get it. I didn't bother taking the backing off the sticky pad on the bottom as it is secure enough without it.

Oh, Stuart Truman said it was trickier with his leather M dash as there's less room for the top clip to get in - he had to take the centre vents out to allow enough give in the dash IIRC.
 
My aluminium dash ate the mount when I was fitting it. Removed, sanded and superglued it back together (the mount, not the dash), then removed the radio and pulled the dash away to insert the mount. Solid as a rock now.

Would recommend taking the radio out to fit the mount on any dash finish.
 
Interesting - I found it quite easy with the two little gap openers, just took some care to kind of roll it in rather than force it.
 
Maybe my dash was unusually snug. It ate one of the plastic openers too, snapped as I was trying to install it as per the instructions. That said - I'm no gynaecologist.
 
Fitted in seconds :thumbsup: only thing I lost was the tip of one wedge behind the dash :o Still I am sure it will drop out when the heater control unit gets replaced next week. :D
