Brighter headlight bulbs?

Hi,

I remember reading a forum topic about brighter bulbs for the standard headlight kit? rather than fitting HID etc. I think they were Phillips bulbs and someone said they were about £30?

Does anyone know what these bulbs are and would i be able to pick them up in say Halfords?

Thanks.

bought mine off the net Philips 80%. TBH made little difference, you best off raising the level of the lights by a complete turn or two of the adjuster. Just remember to put them back come MOT time

Phillips power vision bulbs are good for standard halogen replacements. Fair bit brighter and whiter. I normally buy off powerbulbs on the web as they throw in a pair of sidelights too :)

Fitted Osram Nightbreaker Plus last Sunday and tweaked the lights up a turn (top screw anticlockwise). Have driven home from work every night in the dark, the lights are better than standard and I havn't been flashed once. These bulbs are on ebay at the moment for £15 a pair.

X2 for the Osram Nightbreaker plus bulbs, first side took me 45 minutes and skin off the nuckle, second side took 4 minutes  the benefit of experience should never be underestimated :D
