brake vibration

I'm new to the M and have noticed minor vibration when braking at low speeds through the wheel. It's fine when braking hard, normal noise and discs look fine too. It isn't bad enough to be an issue but wondered if other M's did it or there was some minor vibration in mine.

How many miles on the brakes??
Have the rotors been machined ??
Does it do it when lightly braking after they are hot from hard braking ??
Are the calipers a little loose?

I've had vibrations on other vehicles for many reasons, never on my M3 or my Zeds. In my experience, I've had vibration when lightly braking caused by a warped rotor, (just like a bent wheel on a bicycle).

My front discs and pads are being replaced under warranty tomorrow due to a warped disc, which was caused by one of the calipers sticking. I had a minor vibration under light braking but once the brakes get hot I was getting a vibration all the time.

When I test drove mine @ the dealers prior to purchase, I experienced some vibration when braking. Mentioned it to the salesman, so he said he would put it in the workshop to get sorted. The issue was totally resolved and when I asked what the problem was, he said they had to replace one of the tyres :!: , not really sure how that would effect the braking but that is what he said.

sounds like a warped disc.

It's possible that a tyre could be 'flatspotted' and could cause this. However, typically a flatspot would probably mean a bad shock absorber which is pretty unlikely on a Z.

Thnaks. Will see how it goes for a few hundred miles and take it in for a warranty look if needed.
