Brake upgrading and adding spacers

Hi everyone.

So after finding this forum after researching retrofitting a CC to my z4, I have been reading a lot of the how-to's and I have decided to upgrade my front brakes to 300mm (e46) and add 15mm spacers to the front and 20mm to the back.

As buying parts in Norway is quite expensive I decided to do some shopping on the web.

I found a place in the us that looked ok and I have picked these parts

So what I'm wondering is, is this all I need to do the brake upgrade? (From what I gathered from the brake upgrade guid her on the forum, all I need is the calliper carrier from the e46 and obviously the brake disk, going to replace the brake pads as well)

Not sure I can be much help really but surely you'll need a larger calliper as well and not just the carrier. Not sure what size discs are on a 2.5i but would it be worth upgrading to 325 or would that over do it. Also would it not be cheaper to source some parts from a breaker such as the carrier and calliper if your able to. It certainly look expensive

I've just installed some Brembo Max disc and some EBC red stuff pads today on mine. Will need to give it some time to see if its made any difference if any over the standard disc and pads.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing but from this thread in the How To section:

I would recommend you grab the whole calliper and carrier assembly by removing the brake fluid line and the two bolts connecting the carrier to the king pin/suspension. This doesn't apply only if you're planing on upgrading from 286mm to 300mm front: if so, all you need is the carrier (calipers, sliders and clip are the same). Remember that if you have 16" front rims, 300mm is the biggest you can go without having to change your rims.

And

This is a good upgrade for the 2.0i, 2.2i and 2.5i. It will allow you to keep the stock 16" rims and you'll keep a good front-rear brake bias. The cheapest way to go...

And yes, I am going to check some local scrap dealers and see what they have.
The "shopping list" I posted was just as much a part list(not the spacers). For price it may look expensive, but consider that if I were to buy the calliper carriers new in Norway I would have to pay around 650$ compered to 317$ on that web shop stupid Norwegian prices :thumbsdown:

Anyway, I thank you for your input and will continue doing more research on this. If anyone here has any insight I would greatly appreciate your input

I have been thinking for some time of a brake upgrade. Looking at the current BMW Performance set up - I wonder if this will fit or could be adapted to the Zed? Certainly in terms of overall cost for a front and rear upgrade its cheaper than aftermarket stuff but the cost to make it fit may be prohibitive. Will make further enquiries. A one of fit may cost but if others are interested we may be able to get a job lot done.
