Brake Servo Pipe Problem

After taking my car into the local garage for them to check my braking system as I felt that it wasn't working as it should do, it turns out they found a hose pipe on the servo system that has collapsed. The mechanic said he is surprised that BMW use such a weak hose he would expect to see either a plastic one or a braided one as he thinks if all Z4's use this hose they are bound to collapse.

I wonder if this is or should be a recall?

Anyway I popped into my BMW dealer who have never seen this before, but they have booked me in to have it replaced next Saturday.

It would be interesting to see a photo of the hose to see where it's situated and what it looks like, (although it's easy to guess where it is)

What year and model/engine zed?

Here's some pics, the offending hose is the one that snakes under the strut brace (the one lower down which looks like someone trod on it).

It's on '05 plate 2.5 SE if that helps
