Brake Rotor Replacement

I have an 03 with about 104K miles. I stopped at Pep Boys to ask about replacing the brakes. I was told the rotors probably need to be replaced as well because the BMW rotors cannot be resurfaced. Is this fact or fiction?

Not sure why he thinks they can't be, but 99% of us here just buy new ones.
My reason is that it's virtually impossible to get someone to machine them and also they're usually worn beyond the minimum thickness or close as makes no difference and they are quite cheap in Europe ! except Maybe the Z4M discs (rotors)

I am happy to face rotes as long as there is sufficient thickness. Although for the price of new ones you might as well get them.

Get them measured and see if they will remain within tolerance then you can skim them. If they have a big lip on the edge I'd supect they will be worn too thin.

Frankly as others have said just replace them and put new pads on as it's not economic.

First post in months hurrah :D

Just got some from mintbitz on eBay (who are actually mtec) dimpled and grooved and mintex pads delivered for a tonne, they are so far 500miles a load better than the oems that were on it before ;)

Mines an 03 3.0i
