Brake Pressure Sensor(s)

I've been putting off sorting this out far too long and now the MOT is due soon so I've got to get this sorted..... :x

Every so often I get the orange traction control warning lights come up on the dash (and a nasty beeping sound).

INPA tells me its the brake pressure sensors with either an implausible reading or an electrical failure - or both!

Here are the details taken tonight (no pressure was being applied to the brake pedal);

Brake%20Pressure%20Sensors%202.jpg

Brake%20Pressure%20Sensors%203.jpg

As the top picture shows despite there being no force applied to the brake pedal "print brake circuit 2" is giving a reading and the "offset print brake circuit 2" reading is in the red.

I also note the "offset steering angle" at the top is in the red too. No matter what I do I can't get this one to move back into the green.

If the light comes on during the MOT obviously it'll fail - but I'm concerned now that the steering angle sensor as well as both brake pressure sensors are kaput!

I've tried cleaning the connectors to the brake pressure sensors but it has made no difference.

Sometimes it'll go days without illuminating the lights and other times it'll come on every time the car is started for a few days in succession.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

Any advice gratefully received....

Easy repair :thumbsup:

Thanks for that link - its useful reading, I appreciate it.

I found a huge number of threads on the brake pressure sensor topic prior to posting, but none also discuss the "offset steering angle" issue that I'm also experiencing.

Has anyone else had this?

If its of any use, I have a pair of sensors taken from my car when I scrapped it, both in full working order. The seem pretty pricey new but your welcome to make me an offer?
