Brake pipes etc

My 2006 2.5 E85 needs all brake pipes changed.

I dropped it off at a local indie specialist. Without asking permission, he dropped the fuel tank, exhaust and quoted:
£1100 for kunifers,
£550 for wiper motor (as he discovered it was faulty)
£800 for coil overs
£400 to fix oil leaks

My jaw dropped. I told him that I can’t go ahead iwith this, as it would be worth more thank the car.

In the end, I was charged for a snapped exhaust bolt and left with Angeline light on.

Are there any good mechanics in Surrey who can fix the above, without ripping me off?

I wonder if the engine light is due to a knackered post cat sensor after he applied heat to get the snapped exhaust bolt out?

I’ve just done some brake lines on my z4 - easy enough and cost me nothing as I had come lines lying around.

Oil leaks - should be a cheap fix as long as it’s not the mail rear seal or sump. Again fixed a few on my car.

Coil overs - depends if you are going for budgets or decent brand.

Wiper motor - get used one off eBay and should take an hour to remove old one and install new.

Those prices you were quoted look crazy to me.

I’d buy the car off you if you’re selling it and would do the lot over a weekend

I got the solid rear brake pipes from under the passenger seat to the flexi pipes on the rear brakes on my 2nd E86 replaced in Kunifer for £100 in 2017 by a former forum member in the Northwest who shall remain nameless after being banned from here twice!

The whole point of using kunifer, apart from the fact it won't rust like the originals, is that there is no need to drop the fuel tank as you can thread it through the support brackets behind the tank.

Not quite Surrey, but I'd recommend getting a quote from RBM Hampshire in Hook. I've been taking both my BMWs there since they opened in 2019.

Its recently passed it’s MOT. If you want to make me an offer. I’m seriously thinking of chopping it in, as I need a bigger car to cart my disabled daughter around,
