Hi I have been advised my rear brake pipe has corrosion, would anyone know where I can source the one shown in the picture, or better still a part number for it, I’ve searched online but only found the flexi hoses not the metal pipe itself. It’s a 23i E89 2010 Many thanks in advance.IMG_1014.jpegIMG_1013.jpeg

That’s a bitch cause the BMW solution is to supply a straight pipe that needs to be bent to shape all the way back to the DS`c.. :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

I made a similar problem..best..imho ..to patch a new section of line in..

Doesn’t look corroded from the pic, have you cleaned the dirt off and had a proper look at it…?

However your springs look like ol’ Grandpa Joe’s ballsack…

Ah that why i couldn't find it on the parts diagrams! Its usually the section that goes over the petrol tank that fails.

It’s shown in realoem as a part….but then words explain it’s a straight pipe..

Looking at the pic..the pipe is kind of hot dipped in nylon type compound ..so I doubt very much it’s corroded..just looks like crap on top..IMHO

Wire brush the nut part and black paint it.
If you do remove , expect it to break off.
On mine it did, right pain trying to get flange tool on whats left.
Whole photo looks a bit sad the state it's in.

Thanks for the replies everyone, it is currently at Zedshed, Mike is having a bit of a mare sorting my reluctor ring and ABS sensors and he mentioned the pipe and springs on an update video. I have new springs on the way so will do them when I get my car back. I was considering giving the brake pipe a good clean, rust killer and paint, he did say they are coated so unusual for one to be like he found. It is a 2010 E89 and has done 124000 miles now on British roads so it has endured a lot. Oh he also discovered I have the wrong tyres on the rears too, 245/35/18 😟

 Yep those springs have done their last sprunging 8)

Stripped thread is understandable given some of the planks that are allowed to use an impact gun… but the shaft on top… :?

So, eight days after dropping my car off at the garage to have the reluctor rings and abs sensors replaced on the rear…IT STILL ISNT DONE 🤬 apparently started off with wrong abs sensors being delivered, then couldn’t get a driveshaft off, then that driveshaft wasn’t fit to go back on….and now 9 yes NINE wrong driveshafts have been delivered.

Talk about testing my patience, I am currently working 60 hour weeks and have a 50mile round trip commute….luckily my trusty defender hasn’t fallen apart yet 🙈
