Brake issue

Hi, so I recently swapped out my discs and pads all round a couple of months back, due to work commitments I have not had much time to drive.
I have noticed on the near side rear that the pad(s) are only making contact with a small 5mm line around the disc.
Do you think this is caliper rebuild issue or just swap the caliper, I'm thinking maybe seized piston or slide bolts?? Any suggestions before I strip down gratefully received.

new discs and pads need time to bed in thats why cautious driving is recommended for a while. It could just be a high spot on one of the pads which needs to bed in against the disc. unless the car is pulling to one side when braking I would give it a bit of driving before assuming it is anything other than this.

Hi Oscar50. Definitely sounds like something is not quite right there. New pads and discs should mate perfectly. If a pad is rubbing 5mm only on an edge then that isn't correct. New pads can fit badly/jam in the caliper. I have in the past dressed them with a file so they can move freely. Guide pins can become worn or all gunked up with old grease etc. How old are the anti-rattle clips ? They become soft/weak with age and corrosion. Worst case scenario the caliper carrier could be bent, but unlikely. Can you post a photo of the 5mm line ?

Thanks guys I did wonder about bedding in, as I say not driven much since doing the job, Pagid pads and discs so the protective layer of paint is off all except that one disc. Anti rattle clips where replaced at same time.
I'm away at present but will upload a pic when I get back.
