Brake hoses, braided vs OE/OEM

Looking to replace callipers, discs etc. all round at some point.

Anyone running braided hoses? My only worry is hearing stories of braided failing catastrophically, usually at the joins.

Decent ones like Goodrich etc will be fine. It's my next treat as it does remove that slight sponginess that you always get with std hoses as they naturally swell slightly as there has to be a manufacturing clearance between the inner hose and outer sheath so they can be assembled. When you brake, the inner hose swells a tiny bit too take up that clearance. It's amplified x 4 hoses and also by the fact that a tiny caliper movement equals a larger pedal movement.

You'll notice the difference immediately, well I always have.

Several of us fitted HEL last year (not a group buy) They made them to spec which included and extra long rear to take out the small piece of rigid pipe on top of the rear trailing arms. Makes it 2 rear hoses not 4.

The threads on here as posted about sizes and minor mod required to hoses or fittings.

No regrets and used them on Jeeps for years without issue.
