Brake Fluid Change Indicator On Again

I booked an inspection 2 for the end of January, by the time I turned up for the service the brake fluid change indicator/symbol was on so I had the brake fluid changed at the same time as the service and the indicator was reset.

Two days ago the brake fluid indicator came back on!

I'll take it back in a day or so when I'm passing for another reset but does anyone have any idea why it would come on after two months rather than two years?

I think the brake fluid "change" is based on time & mileage - Are you sure it's not the "low fluid" warning, and that they haven't filled it properly?

I don't think it's mileage at all, purely time.

If you have INPA you can do it yourself.

Yes brake fluid change is time based. Two years.

I'll check but i suspect low fluid level will show as a red warning light rather that the clock symbol above the"miles to service" display




Now Checked: low fluid appears as a Red warning lamp.
