Brake Dust?

Anyone having issues with brake dust?
What brake pads do you use?

My Z was producing so much Brake Dust, it felt like I was spending more time cleaning the wheels than driving. I don't know what brand the brake pads were that I replaced, but I put on a set of Akebono's when I painted my calipers (front and rear) and WOW!
No more brake dust issue - stopping power is great. :driving:

Euro Ultra Premium Ceramic Pad
AKEBONO EUR763 - rear
AKEBONO EUR946 - front
 
I have textar e-pads fitted, which are also ceramic and brake dust is minimal :thumbsup:

Some owners complain that cold braking isn't as good, but I've not had issues stopping my car.

I'd agree, the Textar e-pads feel like OE and is basically confirmed in hot and cold testing published quite widely where they matched or marginally bettered OE pads on a VW Passat and an A5. They do still produce a bit of dust, but it doesn't contain burnt iron from the pad which is what sticks to our wheels. No squeal either :thumbsup:
 
I wash the brake dust off my wheels after each and every drive. Takes but a minute. :) :wink:
 
I use Poorboy's wheel sealant, brake dust and all the other crud simply hoses off.

I had these on my 3.0si, and agree they are very good pads. If they do them for the M I’ll be getting them next time, because the OE pads I have on the front sick for dust :headbang:
 
I have bloody loads of dust from mine :rofl:

Then again they are EBC Yellows so known for being fairly dusty. Immense bite on them when they're hot mind you, and pretty much OEM level when cold.
 
Performance friction Z rated conventional pads on mine, they stop on a dime and give of minimal brake dust... Impressed! :)
 
I don't have any brake dust, and I have no idea what pads I have but unless I get them hot they are less than adequate, related?

Does poorboys leave a shine on the wheel? I've got dipped wheels and I don't want them to be too glossy/shiney.
