Hi
So my other half has an E85 and her brakes are squealing a little. I bought new pads as they only had a little material left on the existing ones.
I removed the cap on the reservoir and proceeded to push the caliper piston back to accommodate the new pads.
I got to a point where it was almost back but the piston was sitting about 5mm proud of the rubber surround and it refused to go fully back, regardless of how much pressure I used.
This was on both sides, virtually the same amount back to where it stopped!
Have I missed something here? Having changed umpteen brake pads, I have never had both sides refuse to retract fully.
Basically, with the new pads the caliper would't go back on, I probably needed another 5mm which suggested the piston needed to go back further. It went back fairly easily to a point, then nothing.
