Brake booster elbow hose.

Hello all, I need to change my brake booster vacuum hose and I'm struggling to find the part. The stealers said a week but I need to get it back in the MOT centre before then or I'll have to pay for a whole new MOT.

My question, can I use a normal hose of the shelf and cut to length for this, or is that a bad idea?

Here's the hose, http://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/34336763992.htm?pn=34-33-6-763-992-M9 the only place I can find that sells them in the UK are the dealerships.

Usually when these collapse there is still enough internal gap for them to function normally. Before I replaced mine MOT inspector didnt even mention it as braking system still functioned normally and passed the test. It could only really be an advisory unless of course yours is in a much worse condition and braking efficiency is reduced. I got mine through the main dealer and did have to wait a day or so - you could try a piece of reinforced hose whilst you wait for the ordered one and see if that will suffice.

Yeah, it's pretty flat like, I've always thought the breakibg wasn't up to much for such a fast car, ever since I got it. Hopefully fixing it will change that.

They've already failed it, I have to take in within 10 days or they'll charge me full MOT price again.

I think I'll try a bit of reinforced hose, just to get it through the MOT then I can fit the correct part when it arrives.

Thanks mate.
