Braided brake hoses Q

I bought some braided lines from an Ebay retailer.

My mechanics fitted the fronts fine but said the rears have 2 pairs.

A longer pair which the retailer said they can supply (a 6 line kit) for a smallish additional fee
A shorter pair which the mechanics said was the wrong thread. IS there anywhere I can get the specs for the hoses?

Some sort of detailed text specification I can forward onto them?
 
Vendor tells me that all BMW hoses should have M10x1 threads on their hoses regardless if they're male or female.

I honestly have no idea but does that sound right?
