Boring but practical(?) pics for the 2009 Z4

Great post !

We can often be seen with one window up when it gets cloudy too.. and x2 to the sniffer dogs comment, great minds..

Those small windows are a waste of time as they dont add to the visibility when driving as the seat and other internal parts get in the way (Thats what I found anyway)

Had a go at getting the small window up from the passenger side yesterday. Can confirm that I found no way to do it (up or down)

I would bet it has to be coded, but as with the E90's I think you can do this yourself, otherwise think you need to contact a dealer.

Isn't there a small tunnel shaped into the base or cover of the armrest to pass a cable thru when it is closed?
decent size cables thru.

Didn't spot one but it would seem sensible. Will give it a closer inspection. The armrest also locks with the outer doors so I thought there would be no gaps given for easy prying open.

Agreed, the shelves have a smart door in front of them. And agreed, not so smart is dash top compartment - that's called 'should have bought our SatNav' - again...

Another point of annoyance unless we've missed something. Check out the pic showing the door storage above. It is passenger side and has only one window button. According to my better half this only operates the main window and not the little one at the rear. Now I'm all for driver control, but being asked to 'put the little window up' all the time is a little grating, and stupid.
Here it is inside the arm-rest, with cupholder (wow...). Note the additional 12v power outlet as well as 3.5 aux in and USB. I've not played with this yet but my initial impression is what a lousy placing. I cannot get to these areas without opening the arm-rest. Not so much problem for a fully iDrive controlled mp3 player perhaps. But I was considering attaching my TomTom to the aux in for over the speaker directions and bluetooth phone. Guess I should have bought that ridiculous Sat Nav.. Oh and all those pricey bluetooth options too... As it is I would maybe have to drill a hole in the armrest somewhere to get a cable in. Any thoughts?

Is there not an additional 12v power outlet just under the glovebox near the center tunnel?

Love the pics, now I know what stuff looks like in my car without having to stand on my head with a flashlight... :D
I did notice that I don't seem to have the triangle option or is it supposed to be standard? Perhaps over here it comes with an inflatable set of huskies and a sled, I didn't get that either. Hmmmm ?

Good post, after looking at the pictures I realised what the bits of plastic were in the boot! I had thought they were to do with putting ski's in but now the set of shelves are installed and the through bag removed - alot more useful for me.

Thanks

Paul
