I've just got back indoors after a visit from the police!
One of my neighbours had called them after he saw someone unknown poking around in the contents of my boot, they scarpered when he knocked on the window. Thankfully nothing was taken, but walking out at 01:30 in the morning and seeing the lid of my beloved Z wide gaping open and the contents of my boot laid bare in the street lights was not a nice sight
We all had a good look around, there were no signs of forced opening. The rest of the car was still locked. It seems the bootlid just popped open by itself, but the alarm didn't go off.
The worrying thing is... this isn't the first time it's happened. On around 3 or 4 occasions that I can recall I've returned to the car to find the bootlid open a crack, this is the first time it's actually been fully open, but then maybe someone saw it open a crack and fancied taking a peek.
I recall other forum users reporting this too. Does anyone else experience mysterious boot openings? It's really knocked my confidence in trusting the car, if it was out somewhere public and not in the private car-park I'm sure something would have been taken.
I'm going to call the dealer in the morning, see if they can pull log/diagnostic and see what happened.
