boot soft close mechanism

hi newbie here,
just following up on an older post,just saved a load of money this morning repairing the soft close mechanism on an e89 2.3 09 plate motor wiring connection severed constantly recycling .
Followed the post on line and found the cause!!!
stripped down and looked at off side one first nothing wrong ,near side one all three cables cut check that one first
Be careful removing the plastic shroud from around the micro switch

took about 1.1/2 hrs to completely fix

Seems to be a recurring issue so I’d guess the bmw factory’s at fault here with a badly adjusted wire stripping machine :?
