Boot roundel replacement

Hi all,

My boot lid roundel has got very worn so I'd like to replace it. I've looked around to work out exactly what item I need to replace this. Whilst it's clear it's 82mm I'm finding it impossible to work out if it's a stick on part or held on by grommets. I've got an E86 with the tilting roundel which acts as the boot release. Based on having a place with it, it seems like it's held on by some adhesive, but most forum posts seem to infer grommets are used, so a previous owner could have further secured this with adhesive.

Any ideas?

When I replaced my E86 boot badge I found it held on with a ring of adhesive tape around the edge.

There are also two pins but they only serve to align it.
 
I did mine a few weeks ago. It’s held on by two rubber grommets which fit in holes on the boot lid. BMW recommendation is to replace them, but I didn’t want the trauma of removing them so left them be! The new badge was a tight fit in them so all was well :-)

Edit - only just noticed yours is a coupe - mines a roadie. Have a look on realoem and that should give a few clues!
 
I've just taken mine off and can confirm that it is an adhesive style mount. The latch to which it attaches has two small nodules for correct alignment and the badge has two corresponding holes and an adhesive strip around the perimeter. The part number is 51117057794.

Think that roadsters use the gromit mounting style but the coupe uses this adhesive style, for those interested.
