Boot Clip Thingy

Does anybody know what this is for?

There are 2 clips one either side of the boot tucked up under the acivation cover for the folding roof.

Thats good then as I want to attach a 15mm tube (Copper) the full length so I can use a cargo net for that exact reason, sounds like a plan in the making
