My boot badge had a little bubble starting to form and the silver of the "M" from BMW was wearing and I wanted to change it.
After searching on here I was told on one thread at least you had to change the whole lock and that dealers wouldn't supply just a boot badge. This didn't look likely from just looking at it and some guys had said they had swapped their badge.
In case anyone else was thinking of doing this I can confirm I got just the badge from a dealer and below is the part number. This comes with the adhesive on it so is an easy swap. I have also shown a picture of the boot switch with the badge removed so you can see the pins on this in case you can find a cheap online badge.
The old badge is easily removed by pressing the switch so exposing the join of the badge and switch at the bottom edge to get some fishing line in and then a small electrical screwdriver in to prise off.

Hope this helps someone. It certainly is going to stop bugging me every time I open the boot!
