Boost a E86 to 300HP?

Yep, with a supercharger...

You could get to 300bhp with all naturally-aspirated methods.
- Wilder cams
- Big-valve head
- Lightened pistons
- Lighter crank
- Lightened flywheel
- Bigger throttle body
- Alpha-N map
- Carbon intake
- De-cat
- Gutted/aftermarket exhaust
- Etc.
However, I went own this route on my VR6 (190-230bhp & 185-244lbft) and it cost me as much as a stage 1 supercharger conversion would have. In all (including £5k for new wheels, tyres, AP brakes & suspension) I spent the better part of £12k.
I'd supercharge it - after all a 20% increase isn't stretching it - and it's probably easier to return it to stock should you need to, or to increase the boost once you get used to 300bhp

Can't you fit a dozen or so of those electric supercharges in series insteadga41 said:

Just found out that Regal Auto had a UK n52 Z4 to 321bhp for £5500.
I bet that would be quicker than an M. The 3-litre is quite a bit lighter than the M, and so with 321 horses and probably quite a lot more torque it would shift!
It's now about 7 years since the Z4 coupe launched ... and in that time, it's actually quite surprising how much faster cars have gotten. Lots of bimmers are now doing sub 5 seconds 0-100km/h times. A VW Scirocco does it in 6secs ... a Polo GTI in about 7 secs ... and these are really quite inexpensive cars by comparison. So, I wouldn't be conceptually adverse to some under-bonnet mischief.
The thing that I am worried about is that many of the tune-ups seem to produce increased total kW with main benefits above 100km/h ... which might be fine if you are tracking ... but not much use if you have to keep it street legal.

you guys are quoting mentalist money... all you need is one of these and you will be up to 330bhp and better consumption. fitted in under 1min... and best of all its plug and play so when you bend it just whip it out and the insurance wont know!

i recon for 97 quid you could fit 3 or 4 in series and get 120% more power!

Yes those "electronics" could all be lost with existing ECU. Much better to pop some plastic wires on it for rocket booster results.
