would like to freshen up the look of my alloys, which are in good condition but the bolts are rusty and centre caps are taty etc

so looking at buying

16 bolts @ £3.60 each
4 x locking set @ £51.00
4 x centre caps @ £9.85 each

total £148 inc vat

the above are main dealer parts dept prices, anyone know a better source for genuine parts ?

last question, wheel bolts are only available in matt black ? all very nice etc but they look a little industrial - apparantly chrome is not an option for genuine parts ? anyone know different ? (might just clean up the existing bolts and spray them matt black if that is the case - cost me £5 and a bit of my time)

thanks

If you are going for dealer parts, contact Jamie @ Sopers BMW, Lincoln and quote the forum. They give a discount and postage is (usually) free.
For bolts, a number on here have bought non-black, or used chrome caps. Bolt size is, IIRC, M12 x 1.5.
Centre caps, be careful of eBay versions as they can fade. Someone will be on shortly with a link to some decent badges, am sure

Matt black or bright zinc plated are all you will find: I looked for an age for quality chrome bolts for my RS (they are standard on ALPINA's, and a set of 16 from BMW was over £300!) and I settled on bright zinc from these guys on ebay. The bolts are Bimecc, so standard BMW quality fitting, and you can purchase without the locking set - I have no idea what their lockers are as I use McGards on my cars as they are the industry finest. I treated the bolts to a coat or 2 of wax and then Poorboys sealant prior to fitting. They are 'ok' but they do corrode slightly from salt contact, but you'll get that with anything you buy. So, I just budgetted £20 pa on wheel bolts and change them when scruffy.

You can get genuine BMW locking bolts from the BMW direct ebay site here for under £24 delivered, or search for McGards. I paid £25 for my last set delivered, and they are either chrome or black faced and quality - most sellers will have them at £30-35, but shop around. E9x, E46 etc all same size......
