Body Coloured Wheels ???

So I planned on painting my BBS reps a while ago as some on here will know, since getting it done professionally wouldn't be worth the cost. Well, I still haven't got round to it and I still don't know what colour to go for, bear in mind I'll only be painting the inner face.

However, and this is either going to be a divider or a straight out bomb, I just came across these pics of an MR2 with body coloured rims and I'm not quite sure what to make of it, I kinda like it :o

I doubt it would work on a Montego Blue Zed, in fact I know it won't. But if you were going all out with the modded look, does it do it for you or not?

Was in the Porsche garage in Kendal the other day and they had a new white Boxster with white alloys, it wasn't for me :o

I have to agree, doesn't really float my boat. I much prefer a contrast between wheels and body colour and yours do that very well as they are.

That's pretty much the response I expected

I'll stick to painting the face and leave the lip. I'd keep them as they are if it wasn't for paint chips around the wheel bolts and the odd mark, and as I've found out from months and months of trial and error it's impossible to find a paint match!

Depends on your taste and the car...I like those blue with blue on that car. I blacked mine with a black Z.

Are you brave enough to try it on one wheel. Black and blue go well together as your car shows. If it were me, I would give it a go on one wheel to test. You would have a black wheel, blue rim, black tyre, blue car. It could work! It would be "showie" though or worse TOWIE.

What's the cliché? He who dares, wins :D

Try photo-shopping it to see what it looks like (or get someone more technically minded to do it if you are a technophobe like me) as it is a lot cheaper than painting a wheel twice.

Always do what you want though, it is other peoples opinions, but it is your car.

Yeah it's not for me either but I'm 54 and I'm guessing your miles younger..
But, do what you want fella, only opinion that matters really is yours.
Individuality is exactly that. I had red weller 8 spokes on a red chevette when I was a kid, now that was a step toooooooooo far......

I'm 33 so still old enough you would think to know better

Anyway, it's a definite 'NO!!'. I Just had a dabble with photoshop and it doesn't work AT ALL! :o

I'll stick to my original anthracite centers idea... now if I could just be brave enough to actually go through with it...

Pity it didn't work. Don't worry about age killing your pioneering spirit or your lust for adventure. This was bought and owned by a 70 year old. I sold it last year.

Bodycoloured lips :P
I did this to a set of trackwheels. At least it was something different. Wheels are sold now by the way.

Yours looks better than my Photoshopped attempt. Maybe Montego Blue is just the wrong colour to pull it off.

Hmmm..... I don't think it works still :|
