Valve cover looks like an M54 engine not an S54, it probably used to be a 3.0i.

I would imagine that its because of the state of tune on the engine, I have a friend with an 800bhp Supra and it sounds like a bag of nails at idle.

He told me it was something to do with the compression ratio's however despite having a very nice car he is a bit like Jay from the Inbetweeners so may be talking s**t.
