Bmw Z4 e85, 2003 Won't start

Hi guys!
I just bought a z4 yesterday and it was working fine until now.
Started up great and the sound of the hamann system is awesome!

The problem now is that it doesn't start. I can turn the key and it seems like its about to startup and
then it dies. The start engine seems to work and the battery is fine!

Can it be the immobilizer or the elm?

The previous owner doesn't answer the phone...
 
Starter motor or alternator are shot I bet - if you only bought it yesterday, and got it from a garage/dealer then have them come collect it and get it fixed...

Anyhow starting with the basics
,
How do you know the battery is fine ?
Have you checked the terminals on battery are tight ?
Have you tried a spare key if there is one ?
Have you tried jump start ( via connections under bonnet ) or bump start ?

This is important - do not try to jump start using the battery terminals in the boot, it can do bad things to your car :!:
 
Hi guys! Thanks for the reply.
I bought the car from a private person so dealer is out of the question, unfortunately.
But I'm gonna call my BMW dealer in town first thing tomorrow!

I will get som pictures as son as its working again :)
We checked the battery with a device don't now what its called in english!
And we tried the spare key and it didn't work.
Were gonna try to jump start it. But i never tought that the z4 was as heavy as it was :P

I let you now the results in the morning!
 
If you can leave the battery trickle charging overnight then do so before trying again tomorrow .
If the car has not had much use they can suffer from battery drain .
