Hi guys, I'm new to this forum and in desperate need of some help,
I have had my z4 for just over a year now and not really had any problems,
Today my car will not start, when I put my key into the ignition and turn the key to position 1 everything is normal, then to position 2 the dash lights come on etc and electrical power allows me to turn the headlight on , wipers etc if I turn the key to position 3 I get nothing not even a ticking noise to indicate a bad battery,
Then if I et go of position 3 so the key then falls back to position 2 , then try again to start the car the key will not move into position 3 I have to take the key out and star again.
I have checked the battery and the eye on the battery is green and the lights do not dim whenI try to the turn the engine over this would indicate to me the battery is still good, I have disconnected the battery for an hour and reconnected it and still no joy,
The day before this happened too but I managed to get the car started some how, but I'm not sure how I noticed after turning on the heater on and off and the light and every switch and nob I could find and hitting the dash in rage ,
I did hear a noise from the drive side engine compartment that made a wering noise and the car started, strange isn't it,
I decided to turn the car of and leave it and try it again , is started again after 15 min of leaving it, so I decided to take the car for a long drive for 3 hours to make sure the battery got a full charge just in case it was the battery,
The next day I came to start it and again no joy I have tried everything and the car will not start even a jump start does nothing, I do here 2 clicks from the engine bay when the key is in position 3 one click from the centre of the engine bay then the other from they passenger side could it be the starter?
Any ideas , could the car think it's still in drive my Any chance or a faulty brake pedal switch some recommended,
