BMW SSS Progman Software not working

Hi All,

I purchased the BMW Diagnostics and Software from bmcables.com

I have managed to get the INPA working fine and communicating with the car but I am struggling to get the SSS working. When I run PROGMAN I get as far as choosing the E85 model, the software then attempts to connect to the car, and always returns this error:

"Initialization was unsuccessful, make sure with diagnosis that access to the vehicle is possible. If this happens repeatedly, further information can be obtained from technical market support"

Any ideas?

Did you turn the ignition on? Also disable firewall on your Pc

What port speed are you using for the connection?

If I'm honest, no idea, I need to check. Where do you check that? In the actual settings of the Progman software (as it runs on a virtual machine)?

No, at the PC end as it emulates a port there.

What should the port settings be? Have you experienced problems with this?

Not with your particular version of the software, but with others that were requiring fairly slow port settings of 9600.

Progman is crap anyway, use ncs expert if you wan to change something ,it will geve much more options to choose from

I've loaded up NCS Expert and don't even know where to start! Any good reference guides anywhere?

Best guide i've seen so far.Take your time and don't be scared,you not going to damaged anything .

installed sss progman pn my new laptop, whit the antivirus enabled it was imposible to connect to the car , so if someone has"Initialization was unsuccessful, make sure with diagnosis that access to the vehicle is possible. If this happens repeatedly, further information can be obtained from technical market support" error ,just disable windows firewall and antivirus .

Luke, did you manage to get SSS working? I'm having the exact same problem as you had - it's very frustrating!
