Hi Ricky

I was recommend http://www.petervanderveer.co.uk based in Marsden

My car is in there now for an Inspection 2. He seemed straight up, talked me through what would be done etc, inc stripping & cleaning brakes etc, not just a visual inspection (which the stealers normally do in my past experience)

I am picking it up on Monday and will let you know how I get on if you are interested.

Ok - so the verdict is in.

They are very thorough, to the extent of changing seals on my exhaust and they felt they weren't 100%. Everything seems to have been checked, brakes were stripped and cleaned etc so I can't fault them for the details they went to. So I trust them to do a full and proper job, but you PAY for it as I would not say they were cheap. Maybe you get what you pay for and I will be going back to them for future work.

The watch outs are communication isn't great whilst you are waiting for them to finish. I had to call them each day to see if the car was ready as their was a slight delay waiting for a seal to come into stock, they didn't call me. But once I went to collect the car, they did talk me through everything done and why, even showing me the parts they had changed.
Overall - good work and gave me confidence in the work done, but at a price

Hope this helps

Anyone got any experience with NLG BMW Specialists in Bradford?

If you're on about New Lane Garage in Bradford, I just had some work done there. Ian is top drawer.

It came to £1600!!!

Work carried out:
inspection 2 (all fluids and filters changed)
Leak on rear diff (new seals and fluid)
New brake pads and sensors all round
New seals on the exhaust
New gasket seals
A couple of cylinders shimmed

I think that covers it - 12 hrs labour @ £70

To think I did this by personal choice as the car is 8 yrs old, but only 28k miles! Just wanted the piece of mind
