Bmw specialist or your trusted garage? Cheshire

As im buying a z4 ( I think) do people have them survived at bmw specialists or do you use a garage you trust instead, what are the pro's and con's, resale value will not be an issue but I want piece of mind.
Anybody have recomendations for South Cheshire or around wrexham, nantwich, chester, warrington?
 
I take mine to Autotech Performance in Telford who is excellent.There is a specialist in Chester not far from Eurocarparts on Sealand road,they were recommended by someone off the forum a while back.Sorry I cant remember their name
 
a well trusted local garage may well be fine for most of the normal tasks, but they will lack the experience of factory trained , ex bmw main dealer techs that have set up on their own as a specialist indy. :thumbsup:
 
Bmw specialist just because I used them once and he had a very in depth knowledge of bmw's. Rather than just give the keys back with a piece of paper noting the problems, he actually went through them and described what needed to be done and how to do it.

Mot, Any garage. Service, specialist.
 
BM Wirral in Hoylake on 0151 345 3564 had seen my Z4 a couple of times in it's service history.

I didn't own the car then so can't comment on how good they are but they are a BMW specialist and in the area you wanted.

Might be the one that maxman was talking about.
 
Local garage all day long. It's just a car, any decent garage will be able to deal with the common problems, nothing wrong with a BMW garage but be prepared to have your wallet significantly lightened after the experience.
 
The indie in Chester is SJR Automotive,Bumpers Lane,Chester,see dealers section for some reviews.
 
Also recommend Trenics in Shotton. They sorted my Z4M. Not tried SJR Automotive but mates have and have good things to say about them.
 
A little bit out of Cheshire, but BM-Tec in Manchester have looked after mine for a few years. They seem to know the cars really well and they are very straight talking with reasonable pricing.
 
My trusted garage is my garage, some friends,pizza, and a computer looking up what to do. Then again its just a crappy Nissan 350z :lol: but best bet is a stealership. Some might be expensive but atleast they are trained to work on your type of vehicle. :thumbsup:
 
The problem with the main stealers is that most of the cars they work on aren't owned by the drivers so it is just about replacing parts until they hit on the solution. Then there is the obscene markup to pay for the flashy showroom, coffee and people in suits. Indie and trusted local garage all the way.
