bmw show santapod 15th september

Yes i got two runs in before the rain came and they shut the track, first run was 13s, second was 12.5, both runs against 335 coupes. Then i cleared off home, to wet and to cold.

I got there early and watched the 1/4 mile, I'd definately give it a go next year... Have to say the little 1 series M coupes looked very quick, but then again no Z4M's running... :D

Thanks Phil we left about 13.00 as i was told the presentation was at 17.00 and my mrs was freezing! i dont think i would have won anything though, there was some amazing cars in the show, i was considering running the car down the strip but couldnt until after it was judged, but the rain made sure i didnt get chance too, brian ran his z4 alpina a few times though

Have to say, some of the M3's did look very tidy, so it would have been tough to win. Look forward to seeing you again mate!

Santa Pod is a bleak place even on a sunny day. Done quite a bit of work in the past for the circuit operators, Trak Bak Racing Ltd. I've found the circuit and facilities very rough around the edges and very weather dependant.

Santapod got me thinking, how fast can a Z4M do the standing 1/4 mile? Found this link at 13.7 sec. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R2MbjjjjW6s&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Neil I saw yours  v nice motor, I wasn't impressed by the lack of traders stands, thought the drifters going around that track was crazy  But it got too wet and Windy and the Mrs was freezing so we scooted.

Nice looking wheels you got there Rusky. I was 5 cars down from you but didn't make it to say hello, so apologies. Next time, as we're neighbours, so to speak! :D

Thank you mate, yours was looking great too, hope to get to meet you next time

Bit of a wash out this year to be honest, we got there about 11am and spent about half an hour walking round, then noticed everyone starting to leave but we stayed, watched the drifters and the handling but by 2pm it was too wet and windy so we left.

In all honesty, I dont think ill be doing this show next year, its too far into september when the sold weather is setting in. Wouldnt be bad if it was at the end of august just after Gaydon.
