I queried this at the local dealer and they offered to update my car for £38.50! Its a 5 minute job, CD in, boot-up, CD out.
If your car is more than a year old check with the dealer that you will be able to use all the functions on a new Nav DVD.
Good point - but just also shows what robbing B******* BMW are..... £38.50 to update firmware. Unbelievable
For the record, I still think the Z4 nav is appalling - the maps are shocking and out of date, and even free google maps on my mobile, with maps from the same complany (Navteq) has addresses on I can't locate in my motor.
