BMW Mobility / Puncture Kit

Once the mobility puncture repair kit has been applied to the tyre, is the tyre then only bin fodder?
I spoke to a tyre fitter this morning who showed me a puncture carcass with the sealant gunk in it and he said it was for the scrap heap.

Really the mobility kit should be seen as an alternative to a run flat in the sense once the card has been called it’s a get you home / to a garage then get yourself a new tyre..end off..

Never used gunk. I have fixed a few punchture on the Zed and other cars using Rats tails though. I keep a kit in the boot. That certainly doesn't wreck the tyre. :D

I'm sure I read somewhere that Holts Tyreweld can be cleaned out pretty well, but I suppose it depends how determined the place you go to are to sell a new tyre.

I bought this after watching a youtube video with tests of 5 or 6 different brands. Included how goo they sealed etc and if gunk(slime in this case) could be washed out of tyre so that it could be repaired.

That’s the one I bought and recommended on another thread recently.

Can’t say how it is because was fortunate enough not to have to use it and left it in the car for the new owner
