Bmw E60 525 problem

Hi All,I also have a 2003 525 manual with only 84k on it.When i turn the air con on the car overheats but does not with it off!.
Has baffled me!. Cheers Kev

The air con has a separate radiator electric fan, is this working?

Fixed, it was the digy thermostat not opening the cooling flaps at the front of the car.New thermostat all is good.
