Hopefully there are some diesel experts on the forum, my 2015 220d car has a fault code 279100 does anyone know what this is?

Yup, swirl flaps. They either become detached from the individual rods in each intake, or the actuating arm gets disconnected through wear - There are kits available to delete them permanently.

My brother had probs with his and mechanic replaced them with blank caps, said they are not needed and car has been fine since, good 7 years.

Hi jabber
Did u get that resolved? I got the same problem. My f46 2 series drives fine and no MIL light on the dash. Its auto startstop was not working and u just ran obd scan and it threw 279100 and 279000 codes. Not sure if it has anything to do with startstop but now I can't get this out of my head 😕

Could u share your experience plz
Cheers
