BMW Dealer MOTs

Right well its booked in at BMW Berry Chiswick .. £54!! (good thing I have a discount voucher) I will feed back how they do.

No offer to collect / deliver which im not surprised about. 90 mins while you wait apparently.

Hmm just read the voucher : Voucher only redeemable at issuing BMW Dealer or BMW Service Authorised Workshop

Does that mean it applies to all BMW dealers? Issuing dealer was not Berrys Chiswick but Speacialist cars Luton which is not a viable option.

Just had mine done at Huddersfield BMW - £30 (Including CAS update under Warranty).

No issues at all - only thing that got mentioned was my shortened rear number plate lol.

Said I was taking them off anyway in preparation of chopping the car in.

£54 is maximum price anybody can charge for MOT. Should only take 30 minutes as well.

Don't think that dealer is doing you any favours

30 minutes? I think the last time I drunk the coffee machine empty whilst waiting for an hour or so ...

Not sure about Vines, but never found Chandlers to be able to do anything that quick either.

Guess you mean the Hailsham branch? Brighton & Worthing are just as bad - and I don't even drink coffee :(

Its about time BMW woke up and did an Audi with their MOT service!

For some time Audi offered a "Free" mot if the car had been serviced by them. Now they charge £40 for an mot and give a "Free" mot inurance with each test.

When they (BMW) phone to ask " how could we improve our service" i tell them - I think it falls on deaf ears somehow! :(

Well in the end I chickened out of the BMW test and went to a local place who did my tyres last time. The only thing I was worried about was the gash in my front off side tyre from where I had curb'd it 10 months ago:

So with that in mind I took it to this place (£35 MOT) and asked them if it would pass they said yes and I got them to do it..

Passed naturally the other things they mentioned were:

1) a bit of play in the wishbone bushes where they connect to the chasis?
2) my forum sticker being in the way of driving so I have to move it.

I hate Berry Chiswick. I'm still angry with them.

Mine's due by the end of Jan too, main dealer is convenient for my workplace so will have a chat with them, otherwise it'll probably be at the local garage I got my last car serviced at.

No advisories and no problems today at Eastern in Newbridge :).

Wouldn't use BMW for any service or repairs. I view stealers as just shops for buying and selling cars the workshops are full of manual following morons who just replace parts until or if the problem is fixed by passing any thinking about the process.

You mean that bit of paper printed on a cheap inksquirt printer?

Don't even know why they bother printing anything at all then. To add insult - they want to CHARGE you for a SMS reminder ...

Its all done electronically , Tax, Insurance, MOT, registration docs - Why do they bother printing stuff i wonder?
