I've replaced both the DMF and the clutch - I went for the LUK kit, which is basically the OEM setup. It's so labour-intensive that it's better to replace both, as you rightly said, consumables.
My DMF was noisy as in any 3.0si, but when eventually the rattle went a bit on the insane side, I changed the full set.
For those who are looking for a single mass flywheel - the gear rollover is even noisier, like a mortar mixer, as there are more vibrations in the gearbox. There are many videos of 350z/Mustang clutch rattle after the conversion.
The Zed DMF is still quite light compared to other cars.
Anyway, although both LUK and Valeo make single-mass flywheel conversion kits, I was unable to find one for the Zed. Still, after a year of heavy usage, the new DMF is still working fine, at the normal noise level.
