BMW Car Club National Festval - 16th Aug

Great day. I was like a kid in a sweet shop. Weather was perfect. I got a billion pics, which I'll post soon.

I was parked in the car park up the road. Is the coupe owner who I parked opposite on here? I loved your wheels!

Yeah the weather was really good, look forward to your photos as I hardly took any!

I did take this one though as I'd never seen Interlagos with Imola interior before, can't be too many with that combination around?!

I have attended this event annually for a number of years and quite frankly I thought this was the worst it has ever been.
Firstly to have to park a good half a mile away and then walk to the event is piss poor. In previous years when this has happened they ran a continuous shuttle bus which worked perfectly. The usual on site car park was virtually empty apart from half a dozen cars. Why?
The attendance at the event was way down on previous years as was the number of cars on show.
There were far fewer marketing display stands compared to previous years so I would assume BMW have priced them out of the market as usual.
The cars on display however were excellent and the museum and café were good.
I very much doubt if I would bother to go next year.
This is my own personal opinion but I have to say it was shared by a couple of others at the show I spoke with.

This was my 1st year, so can't comment on previous years but, I did feel it was very poor to have walk the distance from the car park along an unmade footpath, scattered with road signs. I did mention to a member of staff, why couldn't more people park closer in the near empty (disabled) car park, but just got a shrug of the shoulders.
I will try again next year, but hopefully I can get into the show area with my car.

My thoughts exactly.

I've never been before, so have nothing to compare it too. I did wonder about the empty carpark that was closer. I didn't mind the 'other car park' so much as it was a mini show in itself. Walk was a bit dodgy though, surely there would have been a safer, more suitable route via the centre......

Next year i'll be better prepared and will get the closer parking.

Here are a few of my snaps....

Taken on an iPhone so may not be the best quality....

A little video of the drifting...

+1 on what Dav said. Last year was my first time there and I had a brilliant time. This year it was a little different and organisation felt a little lost at times...particularly the track I had to take to park up on.

Despite that, and the poorer turnout, I still had a lot of fun...after all, spending a day with great weather surrounded by lovely BMWs...can't be bad!

I have been many times over the years but not this or last year as I felt it was getting boring,a show is something that entertains you and to me I felt this was not an event as such because there was no activity or real displays of any kind, its great if you havent been before as the museum is good. Some carp on about the trade stalls-so what I can buy polish or leather cleaner anywhere. Not to detract from the people who organised it and put in a lot of hard work but if the paying public are to spend 8 hours or so at a "show" then its got to be good, its just not my cup of tea anymore but I hope it either improves or maybe moves to another location so it can be refreshed in some way.

My 1st time to. It wasn't perhaps what I expected either but still a good trip out.
A few photos I snapped here.

Wow, plenty of photos there, there were some amazing cars on show.
we did notice that the museum is being refurbed at the end of the year so hopefully there will be better access next year and more things happening.
