BMW Brake pads price hike

About 8 months ago I noticed that the front pads for my 08 Coupe were £65 from BMW. I've just noticed they are now £97! so a 50% price rise (They were a rip off at £65 IMO).
Hopefully other parts haven't risen as much.

Don't buy them from he dealer then. ECP tends to sell OEM pads cheaper anyway, and they usually have 30% discount codes'

Unfortunately my car is still under AUC till next July and due its Insp2 any day now. I'm sure the pads will be due soon. I usually do my own pads and discs but need to keep the warranty so will have to let some 16 year old YTS lad from Stratstones do them (badly) for a bloody fortune no doubt.

I think that you'll find that the AUC warranty doesn't cover discs and pads as they are classed as consumables along with things like the battery, tyres, wiper blades etc.

My car is also still under AUC and, as I understand it, unlike servicing, you're not expected to have consumables replaced at a BMW dealership and you're free to do so as and when required - so I'd just replace the pads yourself before your I2

As above fit the ECP or other pads. Would only affect warranty if they could prove the pads were the cause of the problem, and of course only has any warranty impact on the brakes.
