BMW America to recall some N54 engines!

Mine was changed I think as symptoms were the same but dealer never admitted what was wrong? Just wondered if the recall will happen here?
 
I got mine back the same day this was released as news; guess the service centres here don't use the interweb thingy huh! :lol:

Mine was in service for 9 days having equipment repairs and having experienced my suspected turbo lag issues I asked them to also check the Zed for any fuel pump / turbo problems: I was informed they were all tested and working fine, when asking a BMW tech about the turbo / HPFP issues I felt the reality was slightly "glossed over" TBH -his explanation was that they had installed & upgraded (what I call patched) the Cars systems to deal with any Turbo fuel pump issues, however he is no doubt only stating what he has been told to say yeah! They did not wish to have any discussions with me about it when I explained the real issue is that this "patch" is not an actual fix is it, its a temporary attempt to deal with the issue. TBH I don't think the tech had a clue once I started getting into the facts and didn't want to discuss it. I have sent BMW UK an email asking for clarification that we are going to get the same 10 year warranty on the fuel pump like the American owners have received. will update once I get further info, :wink:

A couple of weeks down the line, and worthy of a 'bump'. I guess you have had no reply as yet, but I would love to hear what they have to say when they eventually get around to it!
