Bmw alloy wheel logos / caps

Dont know if anybody else has noticed the bmw alloy wheel logos fading mine have the chrome outline has faded off all 4 so i took it to bmw today and when it goes in for its service next week they will be replaced i dont use any additives on the alloys that could cause the fading bmw told me there was some directive on them at the moment which is why they are replacing mine for free.
 
To be honest id have probably done the same but a friend told me there normally warranty items so mine were covered dont know if its the case with cars outside warranty :)
 
Sometimes. Need to think a little more!! Although BMW refunded me for the cost of my design interior this week, as goodwill gesture due to marking alcantara, and changed the leather on the drivers side!! Result!
 
Its common for the centre caps to tarnish around the edge especially during winter as the salt water gets in between plastic coating and tarnishes the chrome.
