Does anyone have an E85 or E86 on BMW 78 cross spoke composite wheels? If so, can I see pictures, please?

They come in an 18" staggered set (8Jx18 ET47 and 8.5Jx18 ET50) so the same size and offset as stock MV2s or 108s. I can find pictures of the wheels themselves, but not on a Z4. Thanks in advance.

I'm sure these were an option on the z4.
There are a set going on eBay international for around 700.
Beautiful looking wheels but can see them as being a nightmare to clean.

I'm actually mulling over the ebay listing, which is why I asked if anyone has pictures of them on a Z. There's two similar wheels, one is a two piece (the one I'm interested in) and the other is just one piece, which I think might be the images you found - they're a bit small for me to tell for sure, so perhaps I need to go to Specsavers! The only image I've found of them fitted to a car was on an E46. It left me in two minds about them, but I think they'll look better on a Z. I'm not too worried about cleaning them - a small brush and Bilt Hamber Auto-wheel should do the trick around the bolts.

the pics dhobbs put up are more of a twist on CSL's.

The wheels you want have an extra diamond/coffin shape section in them.

This is the best picture I have found of a real one "in the wild". It's from http://www.e46zone.com/forum/topic/59432-style-78-wheels-which-car/

There is also a one piece as you mention which are 17 inch. Mainly from z3 sport models, but also e46.
They do come up on eBay every now and then, but aren't always cheap nor in good condition.

The eBay listing for the 18s are the first time I've seen them for sale. Hens teeth.

Hello,

I’m a new member,

In answer to your query regarding the style 78’s

There are 2 versions of style 78 are as follows

The 17” solid wheels are standard Fitment on the Z3 sport models 7.5 fronts and 8.5 rears.

The 18” are a composite bolted split rims 8” fronts and 8.5 rears, these wheels were an option on the Z4.

I am lucky enough to have purchased the very last brand new set out of BMW a few years ago and I have them on my Z3, because of their rarity I have searched to find spare wheels in case I damage one of my existing wheels, I also have one spare new front and 1 slightly scuffed rear wheel (to refurb).
I also know where there is another new front wheel and a new rear, they are both in Europe and I have been negotiating to buy them for about 6-9 months now but they are crazy silly money.

If interested in Style 78’s in 17”, I have 2 mint sets for sale.

Thanks for the reply - I was considering the 18s for my E86. They look fantastic on your Z3! Really suit the car. I opted for Style 152 individual eventually - here they are fitted to my car.
