Bluetooth

Hi , I can't seem to pair my iphone with my z4 2006 plate for answering calls. I have pressed the rt button and the radio shows the message no phone. I have activated bluetooth but it does not find it. I also have the voice button on my steering wheel and in the arm rest . Can anyone help?

Thanks

Do you have the pairing code in your manual?
You also have to set your phone to visible in bluetooth menu

Hi , my bluetooth is on and discoverable. It never finds anything to pair it with when in the car. When I press the rt button it does not search it just states no phone

Get your phone set to search for bluetooth, but do not yet invoke it. With ignition off, press and hold the voice button in the centre console, NOT the steering wheel. After 3 sec, turn key to Radio position, after another 3 sec, release the voice button. Radio should display "BLUETOOTH PAIRING". Now invoke your phone's search.

I think I remember that it might be on the Bluetooth unit stored in the boot, which is a bit of a faff to get to. Try a search on the forum. Sorry I cant remember exactly how to do it.

If you do not have the relevant manual I have a pdf of original
send me a pm with your email address
and a Dealer can read it off the car system for you

Clear any existing phones in the pairing before trying to pair another phone

The pairing code is on the Bluetooth module in the boot.

You need to remove the carpet in the boot and the module is on the left hand side as you look in the boot and it is tight near the bottom of the seat..

Press button in centre console with ignition off for 3secs..whilst holding it down turn ignition to first position hold for further 3secs and Bluetooth Pairing will be displayed..search for BMW device on your phone..it will ask for a pairing code .tap in the code off the Bluetooth module and pairing will take place..

You will need to make sure your phone allows Phonebook contacts to be accessed so the car can access them each time you get in the car..

Hope this helps

Mark..

Thanks. I just need to get my code. Tried to remove carpet from boot but it's studded together :(

Just pull the studs carefully and it will come away..it's a bit of a tw*t but will come out??once you have the code??write it in your service or owners manual as well..

Yes, accessing the bluetooth TCU module is the only way for us mere mortals to determine the pass key code. For anyone that doesn't want to faff about accessing the module, the code can be read by BMW DIS software.

Just thought id post an update. Decided to take car to bmw to get code. I have an iphone 5 and they could not get it to pair so they did not charge. However on the way home feeling degected my phone rang and it paired. Just thought I'd mention this just in case anyone had the same problem. My bluetooth only pairs when the phone is ringing.
