Hello

I have a 2003 z4 with factory BMW bluetooth.

It allways worked fine with my old iphone 3g.. people said i never sounded great on it but it was ok considering it was a car blutooth.

I have had the iphone 4 for a few months now and it connects to the bmw bluetooth absolutely fine however everyone says i sound like i am under water...

Is there anything i can do about this?

Also am i wrong in thinking there was a upgrade to the microphone available?

Not sure about the sounding underwater. Will never be perfect with all the noise in a roadster, however mine works just fine.

There was certainly a later position and uprated microphone available. The later one is mounted on top of the column housing

The mic on mine is on the steering column and quite remarkably i have driven down the A38 at 55-60mph with the roof down (windows up and with a windbreak) on the phone and can still hold a decent conversation!

IMO I think the BMW bluetooth is fantastic... much better then any other car kit i have had in previous cars.
