Bluetooth retrofit / combox location?

I recently bought a 35is and it has been awesome.

Earlier owner did some kind of Bluetooth retrofit and Im confused how does it work. With phone I can find "DSP Audio" bluetooth and when connected it indeed works but not like I though it would:
- It overrides the normal volume control. Steering wheel volume does not work nor does the knob. I can adjust the volume fully from phone's bluetooth volume no matter what the volume of audio unit is.
- I can listen to radio at the same time, but it's partly muted when theres sound coming from this bluetooth thing. Example: I was listening to radio and used Google Maps. When the lady tells me to turn, radio was muted from front speakers and replaced with bluetooth audio. Rear speakers still play radio. 1 sec after Maps were silent the radio was fully playing again.
- For some reason music through this bluetooth does not sound right. High frequensies are way overboosted. This does not happen with radio.

What is this thing? Where can I find this box? Where would one install something like this?

If it indeed is DSP as it says in the bluetooth name maybe I can adjust the EQ there once I find it.

No, nothing plugged there (AUX nor USB). AUX port works just fine though. With AUX input the volume controls are also working as expected :)

Yeah I have to take the dash apart when Im installing the new Android screen soon. If it makes any difference in finding this mysterious bluetooth dsp: I do not have iDrive.

Is there any other place to look for other than the center dash and following wires from the radio unit?

I guess it could be placed anywhere, but has to be plugged into the CIC at some point - seems more practical to start there and go backwards

Does anyone have any idea what product this could be? Would help to understanding it all if they offer install instructions and manual for this product.
