Bluetooth Question

I know this has been asked a few times before but i cant see to find the answer.

I have paired my iPhone 4s to my car but whenever i get a call the other person cant hear me - i can hear them fine.

I havent had much of a dabble yet (will do this weekend) but i just thought id ask incase anyone else has experienced the same.

I'll dig out my old HTC too and give that a try just to make sure its not an iPhone 'feature'.

Microphone is on top of the steering column. Maybe the plug has come out at the other end?
 
So I've done a few tests this morning and I still cant get Bluetooth to work.

I have tried pairing my Nokia work phone but get same as I was experiencing with the iPhone, I could hear them perfectly but they couldn't hear me.

Thought it must be an issue with the Mic

Then I tried the voice activation an that worked perfectly fine every time. :?

I assume the Voice control uses the same Mic as the Bluetooth

Any ideas??
