Bluetooth question

I have the integrated Bluetooth fitted, which works great with my SE W880i. Initiate a call, and the stereo mutes and the sound comes through the speakers. However, start the music player and the music comes out of the phone. I think the Bluetooth might only have handsfree profile and not headset profile. Is there a way to kludge it so that I can play music from the phone over the car speakers via Bluetooth? It feels like it's been deliberately crippled, rather than a technical limitation.
 
Short answer ... nope.

Long answer ... your phone and car would need to support the A2DP bluetooth profile. I don't know if your phone does, but guess what - your BMW doesn't.

Pretty sure the W880i does because SE do a stereo bluetooth headset for it. No way to kludge the BMW end then?
