Bluetooth adapter with DSP

I just purchased a 08 30si that has the HiFi radio with DSP and NAV. I have tried to research this and now my head is spinning with information. Most of it is several years old so I'm not sure what the best route is now.
I just want to play audio from my iPhone to the AUX port in the dash. I dont care about using any controls on the car.
Will a simple Bluetooth adapter like the TUNAI Firefly plugged into the AUX port work with DSP?
Thank you

If it's only for music, then why not plug the phone in using a 3.5mm audio cable from the lightning/USB socket?

You then won't need to have a bluetooth adapter taking up the power socket.

I purchased a lightning to 3.5mm cable and tried it. It does not recognize the phone and the music shuts off on the phone

The Aux-In only knows it's an audio signal - it's not smart enough to know if it's an iPhone, iPod, walkman or something else.

However, if you're playing something on iPhone and plug a cable in it might just be pausing the music.

Admittedly, mine was through the Apple headphone adapter that came with a previous iPhone, and a generic male 3.5mm to male 3.5mm cable.
