Blue lights around front badge

On my travels last night I got a quick glance of another BMW(not a Z)) the other side of a roundabout to me & noticed the driver had put a ring of blue lights around the front badge, I thought it looked absolutely terrible & was just curious if anybody else had seen anything like this in the past & what the thoughts are on it.

Nooooo. Not seen one but doesn't sound good. Glad it wasn't on a Zed - got a reputation to maintain - however low!

Watching Eddie Stobart last week I noticed the Mercedes trucks doing the Mercedes F1 team trips had illuminated badges on their Grills.

Really? You always see boy racers with blue headlight washers and side lights getting pulled over on road wars?

Yeah, I watched it the other day actually and that's when I heard it. Something about it's illegal to impersonate a police car using blue lights, but actually not illegal to show a blue light. The policeman said to the cameraman it's not illegal to display a blue light from the front, but it is illegal to show anything other than red or amber from the rear, but we'll pull him over anyway and advise him to remove the blue lights. May have heard it wrong though!

Apologies dan, you were correct

There's also an expensive version of this where the white paint in the emblem is electroluminescent and lights up.

It's based on the same kit they use for some of the illuminated panels to highlight the race/competitor numbers on the side of the cars.
